Look at what I bought on ebay! I bought the fabric to make the pink pin tuck dress but I am not going to do the sheer overlay and it is not going to be pink. I bought a cotton poly blend fabric in a robins egg blue for the dress part and the collar is going to be a natural cream color. I hear pintucks are a pain.

I want to make the shirt dress with the belt in the patten below after I finish the blue one. I don't have fabric for it yet but I want it to look vintage. I love the 1950's, Lucille Ball era and have been wanting some vintage pieces but they are sooooo pricey! So I decided to go the less expensive route and although my dress will not be truly vintage, it will have been made from a truly vintage pattern!

I can't wait to get started! But in the mean time, this is what is taking up some of my time.

I bought a pattern to make this set of felt fruit for Mia's retro kitchen she got for Christmas. I am trying to get these finished and then maybe I will try doing some veggies, bread, pb&j, cheetos, and sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles etc. I bought the pattern so that I could get the jest of how to make this stuff but I think I can do the other stuff by just wingin' it. It's a nice project to work on after the kids go to bed because a lot of it is hand stitching. Hopefully I can get quite a bit of it done in time for her Birthday at the beginning of March.

If, and only if the dresses turn out I will have to post how they turn out......oh wait, I still don't have a camera!

By the way, does anyone have experience with vintage clothing patterns?

May the world know that I love my sweetheart. I know that some people say that they don't need a holiday to tell them when to celebrate their love, that they celebrate their love every day of the year. So do we, but Valentines day is still fun! Happy Valentines day everybody!

Ramblings of my mind

The Internet is sooooooooo S-L-O-W today. It must have something to do with the three COX trucks parked down the street. The slow computer has soured my anticipation to spend the day catching up on emails and reading up on my favorite blogs. I am sad that I have no pictures to blog with. When your camera takes a dive on Christmas day, your blog entries become very sparse. There are hopes of purchasing a new camera if Uncle Sam can spare a few dollers this tax season. But there are also other things on the list as well: New vaccum that actually doesn't suck, I mean one that DOES suck......our current one doesn't.....but it does. You know what I mean?
Next on the list is a cruise for our 10th Anniversary, a new iron that doesn't spew brown stuff on our clothes, a garage door opener (because what is the use of having a garage if you can't park your car in it.) A crib for Reese so we can get her out of our closet and in a room with her big brother, and also so we can use the cute Dwell crib bedding that I have been coveting for ages and finally purchased for $20 from $80. A big cabinet that locks to deture Amelia from getting into big sisters beads, markers and paint supplies (yes, you can just imagine what she has done with the paint). Hmmmm, what else is on our list, A laptop because ours busted a year ago, but it's not a priority. Oh! and enough to put in savings so that we can survive when we eventually lose our job like everyone else. It looks like our list will just have to wait.

By the way, we want a camera small enough to carry in my purse but that's not so small that it gets lost. We also want one that has really good zoom. Anyone have any suggestions?
